Many of us associate joint pain with arthritis or pulled muscles, either of
which can cause joint pain. Contrary to popular belief, seldom is Most joint problems stem from an earlier trauma, perhaps even a minor one, or as a result of strains and repeated types of activity. Unfortunately, many joint problems do not manifest themselves for months and sometimes years; they might lie dormant for long periods, only to surface after a seemingly minor strain or injury. Even minor falls as a child, if left untreated, can set the stage for joint problems and even arthritis later in life. Chiropractic is dedicated to diagnosing and treating the cause of the problem. For example, if you sustain a fall and break a bone in your upper arm, the force of such an injury always causes some displacement of the shoulder joint, and the elbow. After the break has healed, and you begin having pain in your shoulder or arm, you may not necessarily associated with the injury. Joint injury and a misalignment of the vertebrae in the neck will affect the joint of the ribs, shoulder, arm, elbow, wrist and even the hand. Why? Because the nerves that originate in the neck supplly nerve impulses to the rib cage, shoulder and arm. Therefore, the pain you are experiencing in your joints, now may have had its origin months or years ago. |
